And is it true that it can run 100k apps from the play store? I thought that AndroidTV only had a few thousand apps available.
I just bought the Fire TV 4K stick for peanuts but then discovered the TiVo Stream 4K which I liked due to it being based on AndroidTV and the USB-C port. I also like the TiVo app which puts all your shows from different services into one app, that's neat.

For your sake hopefully it will work properly by then. I bought 2 of them and they are a mess, They turn your TV oon and off on their own, sound falls out etc.

Take a look to Xiaomi Android TV stick too. It must be similar to the Google one but it is for sale just now.
Download the app “Reelgood” and use it. It is available for the Fire TV stick. I have the TiVo device and find Reelgood to be superior so far anyway and use it over the TiVo app.
That said I like the TiVo stream and am glad I got it now. I have three Fire 4K devices and a couple Rokus, Samsung and LG smart TVs. For me the TiVo is the best interface of the bunch and performs well.
Doubtful as it's US based. I would wait for Google to launch their new device. Should be soon
