I'm considering selling my Chromecast Ultra and getting an Android TV set box. Lately, I've been having quality issues where my Chromecast doesn't play the highest available quality, even though it's using a wired ethernet connection.
My LG TV is a smart TV, but I'm a sucker for Google based products. I want to wait to see what Google does with their new dongle, and whether Xiaomi releases anything new
I just got my second Android TV box (Nvidia Shield Pro) and just love it. It does everything my Chromecast Ultra did (but better) plus you have the added benefit of being able to download all those apps to the device and aren't tied to your phone or tablet or whatever.
I recommend a Shield over everything else.
Android TV ofcourse beacuse it has Chromecast ultra built in. And native TV apps are better than chromecasting apps from phone.
Soon they will be one and the same. :P :)
