Amazon usually displays HD, 1080phd or ultra hd to show the quality of the video it's playing, but the updated app doesn't display anything now. Is this the case with other tvs as well?

It's not a TV-based thing. It appears to be a change within the app.
Prime claims to stream the highest quality video based on your TV's resolution, but it is frustrating that we can't see the resolution, never mind bitrate.
