How to configure VPN without having to install any app

Hi, is there a way to set up a VPN connection on Android TV 9 without having to install any specific app? Thanks.

As far as I know, there's no built in VPN. The best you could do is setup custom DNS and proxy but that won't do anything with VPN. Alternatively, if your router has VPN client option then you'd be able to have VPN on ALL your devices without apps on every single device.
