Hulu Unavailable in Play Store (Mi Box S)

by RealityCheck18

Yesterday, Hulu app started acting up & it was stuck in the loading screen for minutes. I decided to uninstall & re-install the app. After uninstalling, I realized the app was no longer available in Play store. Is anyone else facing this issue?

You'll have to side-load it to get it back. At least for now.

  1. Install the X-plore file manager on Android TV.
  2. On a computer download the latest Hulu for Android TV APK from apkmirror.com
  3. Copy that to a cloud drive supported by X-plore like Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.
  4. Open X-plore and go to the "web storage" section to log into your cloud drive.
  5. Find the Hulu APK and download and install.

The first time you do this you'll have to allow X-plore to have permission to install unknown apps from the Security & Restrictions section. I think X-plore prompts you for this, but then you have to return and download and run the APK again.

Its been that way for a while. Hulu is probably the one that may have unregistered the device so that it doesnt show up on the android tv store

Is this just a Mi box S problem? Or all Android boxes?

Hulu, Apple, there's plenty of services that want nothing to do Android TV, specially Xiaomi streaming devices.
