Puffin tv Browser

Hi can not get puffin tv browser to work on my Nvidia shield tv pro 2019. I have force stop clear data clear cache still will not open.

There are videos on YouTube that show you how to get a older version but you have to turn off automatic updates in play store to download files

Do you specifically need to use Puffin? You can side load Chrome and use the Shield TV app for the Track pad mouse and keyboard. I can't help with Puffin though if you do only want to use that. I won't use it since everything goes through their servers. Others use it though so someone may be able to help.

Tried Puffin on my Sony XBR900E... wouldn't work. Have had much success with the VEWD browser. Give that a try.

Kiwi browser (you can use chrome extension here).

If downloading is all you need, you can use troypoint downloader, available on play store.

Use silk browser version 80 or more (search on Aptoide and sideload it to Android TV) version number 80.......30 last two numbers must be 30 (optimized for tv, number 10 is optimized for tablet). Two problem,

  1. Cannot appear on Android TV launcher, so should use HAlauncher or other launcher found in play store or make a banner shortcut on Android TV launcher by tv app reppo, also found in play store.
  2. No download option, as newer version of puffin browser.

But, silk browser is 10 times better than puffin browser.

Some older version like v60 or 62 are are modified for shield tv, search on Google, you will find.
