Hi, anyone with an AndroidTV device (smart TV, Xiami Mibox, Nvidia Shield) using Disney+?

I need to verify if movies' sound is in PCM STEREO or DOLBY DIGITAL+ 5.1

I have a Xiaomi Mibox and sound is PCM STEREO, and this seems to be a general issue on this device: what I'd like to know is if it's only a device issue or a global AndroidTV issue.

Try enabling Dolby Digital in the settings of the mi box

Disney+ uses AAC multichannel audio which then is either transcoded to DD, or PCM. The MiBox most likely doesn't have built-in transcoding for DD/DD+ to retain the multichannel format, and it downmixes to PCM stereo.

Shield gets DD+/Atmos. I'll test my mibox..

EDIT: same as you.. only stereo on mibox
