I'm planning on buying Nvidia Shield TV, and I've seen Android TV 7.0 and later support live tv, that is have tuner support?

I was finding conflicting and old information on forums so I would like to know does it work smoothly, and are there specific tuners that have to be used?

Another issue, I have a subscription model with my provider, I have a CI module and do you know of any USB tuner that would work with AndroidTV that also has Common Interface support?
