While playing a video on smart youtube tv application, I noticed that videos keep buffering after every few seconds. I have a decent internet connection and never faced such an issue on the youtube app or for that matter on any other streaming platform. Can anyone help?
I had the same issue.....looks like they have pushed a new update though....not had any buffering issues so far.
False alarm ...the buffering still persists.
A while ago I was having this issue consistently with just 1 video, regardless of me changing to a lower resolution or bitrate for that video... While all other videos played fine.
Are you having this problem with every video or just a few...
Happens to me on my shield, you're not alone. I'm forced to watch YouTube with ads. Plex remote streaming 4k hdr with Dolby surround works fine. Linus videos buffer with smart YouTube TV, they're fine with regular YouTube app and YouTube vanced.
hit the back button while it loads and you can change the decoding engine.

Anecdotal, but I’ve been having the same issue on my Shield pro. I did see a recent update for smart YouTube so hopefully that will fix it. Regular YouTube seems to work fine, but who knows. My normally excellent Internet has turned to shit over the past week or two. If this is an “everyone’s at home and online” COVID effect I would have expected it to happen months ago.

Just because you have a decent internet connection, it doesn't means you ALWAYS have a good connection. All you need some issue with your ISP, have a higher ping or have packet loss.
Open the Stat for nerds and take a photo of it.
