Connecting bluetooth headphones without having to unpair each time

by MajoraPrime

I got Apple airpods and I have been able to pair them with my Hisense HG8 TV to listen with. However if I connect them to another device, I cannot connect them back with the Hisense TV unless I unpair and go through the pairing process again. There doesn't seem to be an actual "connect" function in the bluetooth menu, only "change name" and "unpair."

Is this just the way it is or am I missing something?

Can a 2015 Bravia do this, pair with BT headphones?

I have a set of headphones, dedicated specifically to the Android TV I have in the bedroom. They're never paired with any other devices, but each and every time I go to watch something, I have to unpair them, and repair them. It's really annoying.

My wife's headphones are paired with her iPad. She can not use them for a month, but the instant she pulls them out of the case they instantly re-pair..

I love Android but their Bluetooth support is shit.

It's more of a weird limitation of the Air Pods and how they switch devices. They can connect to multiple Apple devices and easily switch between them, but can only connect to one generic bluetooth device at a time.

I have a 2019 Bravia 950g, it's hit-and-miss with the headphones. Most of the time it connects instantly as soon as turn them on, other times I have to pair all over again. On some rare occasions it plays through the headphones and the TV speakers at the same time, so much for keeping the porn on the DL.
