No Netflix 5.1 Audio with HDMI in Xiaomi Mi Box S (but it does Amazon Prime)

by alexcastano

I have a Xiaomi Mi Box S connected to an A/V Denon X3600H using an HDMI cable. When I play a TV show using Amazon Prime, GooglePlay Movies, or any other app I tried, I get 5.1 Digital Sound. However, on Netflix, I can see the symbol 5.1 in the TV shows main page, but then I don't have any 5.1 option in the audio menu when playing it. The signal received by the AV is just PCM. I tried everything I can think of, but no luck at all. Can you help me? Thanks

Hi, I have the same mi box s and I have 5.1 sound. Try this, in the menu where you can choose the output deselect dolby digital plus.

There's some detailed info you might have to look for on reddit or web search regarding netflix and 5.1 audio.

Ps: it's not plug in play for 90% and need some hocus pocus

Hi, were you able to resolve this?

Make sure the audio setting is set to AUTO don't use the manual of SPDIF settings.

Try rebooting the device after you select AUTO.

Try clearing cache and data.

What Netflix plan are you using?
