Ok so I have a 128gb USB set up, for some reason, I’m still getting a low storage error & can't download new apps. I've erased and reformated and still the same problem

Does Xiaomi recognize it as internal drive? If not, when internal space is full, you can't install.
where are you installing to? built in memory, or usb?
edit: if the built in is full, you probably can't install to usb either.
