Hey guys, I own an Android TV, and thinking of a streaming solution. I have a lot of questions, hopefully you can answer a few of them: I've been using Netflix for a while but there are many shows I want to watch that are not on Netflix or in my country. (And vpn is slow) Only problem is I LOVE Netflix's UI, the way the catalog is organized, how it immediately goes over to the next episode, allows you to skip the opening.. Obviously some of these stuff can't be reproduced with shield (for example Shield cannot automatically skip openings, obviously), but how close can it get in terms of organizing my library? What is the normal procedure if I have a TV show on my computer and I want to watch it with the Shield? How instant and hands free is this process? If I transfer a show to the Shield, can it automatically (or by manually teaching it somehow to) recognize it and show me a description of that TV show and understand the order of episodes? or is it too much to expect of this box? My current solution is to download a movie on my PC and share it on a network drive, and then connect to the drive from my Android TV, but the navigation on the TV's native UI is TERRIBLE and takes too much time, how much better will it be with a Shield? (or any other box for that matter) Thanks!
The shield doesn't itself organize a library and turn it into a fantastic playback machine.
The shield apps that allow you to do so.
You should probably look into using Plex.
You run a Plex server on your PC or directly on the shield tv and use the Plex client on the shield tv.
