MiBox S still the go-to box?

by a8ree

I've had the MiBox S for a couple of years and its a great device. I'm wondering whether this is still a good choice or if there's anything better out there in the same price bracket / anything comparable or updates on the horizon? Thinking I need another.

If you are in the US (i'm not), the TiVo Stream 4K got some good reviews, even if it's not perfect and there are still some bugs. The SoC in it is the evolution of the S905X, with a better CPU and GPU.

I'm actually waiting for this new Chromecast with Android TV/remote, as that will be an excellent upgrade from our MiBoxes.

In the affordable price range, I don't really like all those branded ones available(Sling/Tivo/Amazon/etc), their pushing of their own apps is to far away from stock AndroidTV for my liking.

mi box s No go. Check out tivo 4k stream, Verizon stream tv and mecool km1 (no Netflix certification though). If you're patient, wait for sabrina.

New users pls remember you're going to find very few people who complain for mibox. Don't ever think all the boxes are as crap as been told here on reddit. Many who have no issues or minor issues won't even bother commenting.

A mibox 3 user since it launched.
