A useful workaround if your TV it's slow and crashes

by emuboy85

I bought a Philips 55pus7304 recently, it's a decent TV for the price and comes with Android TV, the only problem is that sometime just grind to an halt, with sluggish apps, the interface lags and streaming it's not consistent.

The problems seems related to the 2gb of ram, one solution I found useful it's to disable Google Chromecast in the system apps and disable Google assistant, I have a Chromecast Ultra and a Google mini to do the same job and the TV finally has started to behave properly.

You can also go into developer mode and restrict the amount of background apps that can run as well. It helps a little.

Turning off the animations in the developer options made a huge difference for me

Thanks. I got the same TV set recently. I guess there must have been a big sales push when they realised half the country was going to be housebound for several months...!

Ok so I disabled the Chromecast and then Google Assistant. Turned on dev options and then turned off animations. Don't know what happened but TV won't connect to internet anymore. Ethernet cable is connected but it won't connect to internet and Wifi not working either. Have restarted few times already. This is a Hisense 65H6570G

Have already undone all the changes I made but still no luck....
