Hey guys, my on screen keyboard is gone on my mi box 3! I havent changed any settings whatsoever!
Everytime I try to open the keyboard (for example when searching apps on play store) it shows me a bar with a big mic button where I can use voice to search...
I already tried disabling and deleting gboard updates that fixed the problem 🙈
Do you face this issue too? I have read that there will be a new on screen keyboard for android tv soon is that true?
Yeah, i had the same problem on my mibox s; something in a recent update to gboard apparently broke the functionality on Android TV (or at least MiBox's).
I had the same issue with my Sony Bravia the other day. I didn't have time to check, but there was only a big mic button and no keyboard.

Yes. Same here. Uninstalling Gboard updates seems to fix the issue for now.

using one of the review as an explanation:
"Long story short, when you try to use a third party TV remote control that uses a USB dongle, the TV thinks that you have plugged in a keyboard, thus it deactivates the GBoard on screen keyboard (this happened after the Oreo update)"
I had the same issue. Just change your language to English then you will be able to enable Gboard. Once done change the language back to your original one.
