General discussion about OS responsiveness.

by SimplyFrostaku

Looking at buying a Sony Bravia with Android TV later this year and was curious how well the OS responds on better quality TVs. I bought a small TCL tv that runs Android TV and have noticed a general delayed response, mostly to what I assume is the hardware it’s running on.

Just got the 900h and it runs super fast and I'm even using a screen reader that helps blind navigate the operating system. My Vizio is pretty laggy after a while following a factory reset. I heard the 950h has a better processor but I'm curious to how much this actually makes a difference with the operating system on Sony

The HDMI 2.1 equipped 2020 Sony X900H has the most powerful chipset for Smart TV usage vs anything else on the market. It’s a really snappy setup. There will be no lags.

Seriously dont even look at anything else.

I have a mid range model from 2016 and is never bothered me at all. I stick mostly to streaming apps rather than live TV and they all work great, I watch tons of 4k HDR without issues. Moving around the home screen could be faster I guess but it doesn't upset me

Something to consider, how long do they plan to support it with updates? When the on set Android vs set top box debate started, that was my reason for sticking with name brand set top boxes. Support for on set TV was very poor. This was about five years ago so it might have changed. Don't know if you're determined to go with the first option.
