What is AndroidTV like for Amazon and Netflix?

by BillyDSquillions

I posted a week ago.

I want to replace a PS4 used ONLY for Amazon and Netflix, with a cheap as hell device.

I hear the new Sabrina Chromecast 5 (??) whatever it is, will have Android TV and a 'real' user interface.

Hopefully not a dumb question but surely the Android TV version of both Amazon, Netflix is fairly quick, reliable, usable, right?

The current chromecast is pure garbage - having to 'stream to' the thing is bad. This new chromecast sounds like a proper media device.

Using them both on Android TV, they work perfectly. Obviously the Netflix interface is far superior than Amazon Prime one, but that's a known fact.

Not sure you'll have much of a difference compared to the ps4 apps though

The Sabrina device will work perfectly for your use case. No problem.

The Amazon app is trash, but that's on Amazon for not making a good app. Netflix works pretty well and it's probably one of the best apps for Android TV.

Anyways, as someone that also upgraded from a chromecast, the improvements you'll get in quality of life are outstanding tbh.

Why not a Tivo Stream 4K, Amazon Firestick, or Xiaomi Mi Box/Stick? All are available right now and work fine.
