Do we (you?) expect Dolby Atmos support on Google TV with Chromecast ('Sabrina')? My CC Ultra basically doesn't support Atmos and it's infuriating.

I have a CC Ultra and a Dolby Atmos home theater system, with a TV that supports HDR10, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos.

The only way I can get Atmos is via VUDU, and even then it's hit-or-miss. I have Netflix and pay for the Premium plan, but only get UHD video, not Atmos—similar with Prime.

I desire to have Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos in the future.

Do you (we?) expect something is going to be different with Sabrina? Whatever the implications on CC Ultra, be it hardware (for decoding), or licensing for codec(s), etc., I don't fully understand—but I do want Atmos support broadly, and would like to purchase something that will fulfill this for me.

Thoughts?

The CC Ultra does support Atmos but only inside Dolby Digital Plus, which is the codec supported by all major streaming services.

Isn't it just licensed? I thought it was just as simple as Google paying for that licence. I'm no expert, but that was my understanding.

Be under no illusion though, it's a budget device, so whether they include it or not who knows.

It's their way to push several services in one device (stadia/android tv/store/movies/YouTube tv etc.). They'll price it to sell and have just enough specs to get by.

I would think I they can't match what Fire Stick 4K can do they should not even release it. Not having streaming Atmos would be a a major fail.
