Just got a Sony A8H OLED TV. Does the Chromecast via Android TV supports 4K HDR streaming? I’m trying to see if I need to get a Chromecast Ultra or if I can just stick with what’s built in the TV.

Haven’t verified it myself but yes it should support 4K HDR using the Chromecast Built-in feature.
Question though, why wouldn’t you just use the onboard apps? They should be superior to casting in just about every way.
I have a Samsung 4K 65inch and when i switch on my Mi box S with built in Chromecast its shows that the device is sending 4K signal.

The TV's In-Built Android TV OS should be sufficient IMO. What are you plannig to achieve with chromecast that's not possible with the in-built OS?
