Built-in Chromecast isn't always detected

by thebobbyhunter

I bought this sharp android TV less than a week ago. And I'm having issues with the built.in Chromecast. Namely that the Chromecast is only detected as a casting option after manually turning on the TV and waiting a few seconds. Does anyone know how to solve this?

Would anyone know how to fix this?

Happens a lot on almost every Android TV device. I've tried everything to keep it from going into deep sleep but it's next to impossible

Do you have an Ethernet cable plugged in? My Xiaomi tv’s built-in chromecast only works if there isn’t an Ethernet connection active, even if it says it’s also connected to wifi.

Happened to me alot. What fixed it for me is going to playstore and uninstall updates.

So, I also made sure that Chromecast didn't update automatically and never had a single issue since. Hope it helps for you

Same here but with a TCL android tv. What works for me is disabling/enabling wifi.

Power saving mode must be active.

Yeah... My Philips does that too. There's an option to keep it visible even when in standby, but even then it most of the time doesn't show up. One of the reasons I will not get another Android TV...
