Can anyone with an Android TV check if you can download Xbox or Xbox Beta app

by Achandab

Currently have 3 Xboxs at home. With remote play now on the Xbox app I can just use one and stream to my other 2 TVs. This would be a dream if Xbox app is on Android TV.

You can't directly from the play store but you can sideload the apk

You can use Xbox Game Streaming (Preview) 1.12.2007.2001.22b177646 for Remote Play. At least for now. The newer 2010 version just redirects you to Game Pass/Xbox app, so it does not stream anymore - so use the older 2007 build instead. Works for me on Chromecast with Google TV. But you need to be sure to use ethernet cable or 5GHz WiFi. Even high quality 2.4 is not good enough. I had to create separate SSID just for game streaming, since Android is terrible at staying on 5GHz.

Sideload it, there are tutorials on here. Got it on mine, but didn't try to connect controller or anything yet.

Not working on MiBox S. Crash on start. Same on MiStick. I also have a Sony Android TV, but console is connected on that tv, so I don't care if work or not. I didn't try.

Sideloaded the app on my Tcl Android tv. It works, but its not as enjoyable as stadia or even geforce now. Im not sure if its my connection or the extra lag you get from wireless controller, but input lag is huge. I push analog stick to left, hold it, release it, then look at the screen, im still spinning to left, and only few moments later it stops. So its atleast 1second lag.

I have sideloaded, and played battletoads using my Xbox controller in a decent wifi area and it wasn't terrible. Haven't tested closer to the router but I randomly but get a visual freeze and I would have to close the game after maybe...5 minutes each time.
