It was to Android 9 with a security update as of Nov 2019... whomp whomp
It's still a decent secondary TV for the price I paid and I didn't get it just because it ran Android TV but damn these integrators really suck with updates.
Edit before anyone comments: Yes, I knew that Android updates on (most) non-Google hardware can be sporadic at best. Yes, I also know the Nvidia Shield is objectively the best Android TV device - my OG 2015 in another room is still running strong.
Also people don't really understand how TV sets work.
They are based on what Google calls "Reference Plus" designs.
Google is the one managing the firmware on those TVs, not the OEM.
If your TV is based on the Reference Plus program, you'll get the next Android update.
