Google Home app not available in Android TV

by prakashanish

The Home tab should be an inbuilt feature of Android TV. Streaming cameras, checking on sensors or quickly toggling on/off lights and devices could be a great feature which could be added to Android TV.

Old TV with coupled with cheap android boxes could easily be used as camera monitoring devices - for streaming multiple camera feeds.

A simple two/three quick clicks on the microphone button (on tv remote) could be used to bring up Google Home screen.

Option to enable/disable Smart Home device specific notifications on TV could be a great addition.
Imagine while watching Netflix you get a pop-up notification that 'Person detected on front door camera' and you could quickly check out the camera feed in one click.

Isn't it what Google is working on with its new Chromecast?

outside of cameras... I am not sure I think this a HUGE get, considering most of the items I more often control with voice or the phone in my pocket (so like a remote for my house already)... however it does seem easy. And it's self-promoting for google. I am kind of surprised there isn't a dedicated button on this new remote coming out?

Personally I would be fine on the phone for most controls with a quick cast button on any streaming cameras, at least the Nest cameras...

I don't know about Google Home but setting up an applet on phone using IFTTT carries over to android TV.
