Chromecast with Google TV hotel login?

by ompt709

Like the post says one of the biggest drawbacks to the original Chromecast and any Android TV was no easy way to login to a hotel or similar WiFi network with a secondary login that requires a browser to accept terms, check a box etc.

It's one of the reasons I travel with either a Roku or Fire stick but I'd much rather be using Android TV. Can anyone verify if this is possible? Logging into a new network that requires a browser?

I sideloaded Chrome and will try this next week at the hotel.

At that point I would rather recommend setting up my own network. Either by sharing mu laptop's internet, or bringing my own travel router. Then you also are not limited by how many clients you can connect

For almost all hotels with those closed networks, all you need do is call the number provided by the hotel for customer service for the internet (usually an off-site company that provides tech support) These numbers are almost always on a card in the hotel room.
Tell the representative you get that you need to add a device to the room connection. Give them the MAC address to your device and they will connect it for you. I've found that in the past few years, this has become so typical that it's an incredibly easy process almost everywhere.
