Does Chromecast Google TV support 24Hz over HDMI?

by veneno11

If I'm playing a movie on Netflix, does it look smooth?

I'm asking because I had a nexus player(first gen android TV) hooked upto a Samsung. Whenever I played any movie, it used to have jagginess (highly noticeable in panning shots you cant unsee it when once your eyes start noticing it) I'm not sure if it was TV problem or the nexus player (that was interpolating 24hz to 60hz) .

I sold both of them and instead got a sony TV with android built in and 120hz panel. Everything looks just as it should. I want to try the new chromecast, because it has newer android TV and Google TV interface looks cool but worried about this thing.

Your TV with it's 120Hz display panel can likely do Judder free 24p:

So 24p video content output at 60Hz from Google Dongle will playback smooth.

That is called "Auto Frame Rate" and it's so far available on the Mi Box, the Mi Box S and the Nvidia Shield, I don't think the new Chromecast has it, I still haven't seen anyone saying something about it.
