Input button compatibility with Samsung TV

Question

Chromecast with Google TV input button is recognized by the Samsung TV KS8000, but there is no way to select the highlighted input. Once the input is selected, one has to wait for the menu option to disappear by itself, which is a very long duration. My remote is set to IR setting for this. CEC doesn't work. Has anyone experienced same issue with a Samsung TV?

Yes, I have an old Samsung TV and I have to wait for the menu to disappear after several seconds when I use a remote different than the Samsung one.

I can't even get it to bring up the input menu, also KS8000.

Sucks that's there's no way around it. I ended up using it to change inputs on my soundbar instead since that gets used more often anyways. The TV usually stays on the same input for Chromecast.
