Yesterday I updated my MiBox mdz-16-ab to Android 9. Now when I use the Steam Link app, I seem to have lost the possibility to use PCM 5.1. my MiBox is connected through an HDMI to a Yamaha AVR. Thank you!

Did you check the sound settings? it should be set to "Auto".
I know that update removed the true hd passthrough, maybe this is related???
If i remember correctly, Xiaomi said HD-Audio passthrough was due to be removed because of licensing issues. I can't find the exact quote, but it could also just be another bug.
Mibox 3 doesn't do PCM now after update. It's not just TrueHD, etc... Its PCM that's not working anymore. I used to get PCM 5.1 for DTS as dts never worked for Plex on mibox 3, had to use kodi for DTS. Now everything works perfectly DTS, Dolby Digital for EAC3, etc but no more PCM.
