New Chromecast w/ GoogleTV - any way to sync or copy settings & apps to second device?

by wickedpixel1221

Picked up 2 of the new Chromecasts w/ GoogleTV and just finished getting the first set up. I don't suppose there's a way to copy my settings and apps over to the second device so I don't need to do everything again?

copying settings and apps, that's something that only chromeOS does , as far as we know.

Google TV however [ on the basis of what we have on android TV ] will allow the setup using a smartphone with which you use a same google account. for apps then, you must turn to ' Play Store ' and to ' My Apps ' then scroll to ' not on device ' [ apps that are yet linked to your google account. ]

take care, marcelo

maybe this helps although doesn't make sense when you setup multiple google accounts on the same googleTV/AndroidTV device/gadget.

thanks. would be great if it recognized you had another AndroidTV/GoogleTV on the same better with the same user profile and gave you the option to copy it's settings and apps.

This would be a great feature, would be useful to even be able to keep them in sync too if you wanted. I have two also and can't see why I would want them to ever be different from each other.

that makes sense to US.

in particular when you have multiple google accounts setup on your gadget [ Ccast w/Gtv ] and storage for apps may be limited to 8GB.

it didn't. it installs only the entertainment apps you select as part of the setup from your phone (Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, etc). not any of the other apps that I had installed on the other Chromecast.
