Google is bringing some features that other apps had since 5 years ago and still telling you to wait for some other basic features. Yet they have the nerve to talk about it like if its the second coming of Christ
The most irritating thing about Youtube Music is that there's no way to distinguish between originals and Dance/singing covers. I watch a lot of dance videos and my youtube music history or liked is filled with them. I wish Youtube Music can be more like spotify and less like Youtube itself.
It's what I shared a a couple of days ago but nobody cared, almost nobody cares about YouTube Music 🙄
I'm able to play my uploaded music but the music added to my library from YouTube Music catalog still doesn't show up.
I prefer a separate app for this instead of using the YouTube app, specially because I don't want to share my play history between the two services, looks like Google is going to keep this for a long time.
Starting to play music randomly is still NOT possible in any of the tabs.
"On devices with the Android TV home screen, you’ll see an all new YouTube Music row to help you find your next song - from old classics to new hits". Cool.
"In the coming months, YouTube Music Premium users will be able to continue playing music in the background after exiting the app, similar to YouTube Music on mobile, so stay tuned! ". This is interesting but too bad it is for premium users only 😞
"YouTube Music will soon replace Google Play Music on TVs. For devices running Android TV OS, YouTube Music will be automatically available on your device. If you don’t have it yet, and don’t want to wait, download YouTube Music today". Does it mean the Play Music app will be replaced by the "shortcut"?. EDIT: It's still not available in the Play Store in my location.
Thanks u/513 for sharing.
Been saving up bucks in my Google pay account to buy some music. Imagine my distress when I went looking for some music to buy I found out the Music store is gone! The only media I can buy is books, movies and tv shows. Thanks google. I've spent $150 this year alone and it isn't really easy to play it using the assistant.
Finally!
Will we ever be able to search for our music alone? They need to create a music-only search (and assistant language) that allows me to search my music library - not all the videos and music combined in search results.
Ever since they integrated YouTube music with the YouTube app, it's been crashing on my Android TV. Buffer issues, freezing up... You get to the end of a video & it hangs up, can't pick another video or back out.
Nvidia Shield 2017.
When it crashes, it kicks you out to the homepage. At the top it will show the YouTube video. Similar to how the Google Play Music app did.
Even the Android app is sluggish until you dismiss the notification at the top.
I've switched to Deezer for music, YTM sucks. Unfortunately I still pay for YouTube premium to avoid YouTube advertising. Might look into Vanced at some point but I have a family plans and sister with kids who will not want to deal with those commercials.
YouTube Music is just a victim of Google's terrible designers. Google doesn't know how to do good UX and UI.
