Needs a kangeroo in shot for proof
Slightly confusingly, the setup on the Google Home app (on an Australian Google Pixel 3a, via Australian Google Wifi) tells me that the Chromecast is made for another country and many not work here.
Yet the setup on the Chromecast correctly defaults to English (Australian) as a language.
Nothing can replace my Vodafone TV :p
Mine arrived from Google today and I love it. Particularly because the remote powers turns the TV on and off and the volumne buttons work on my receiver. I thought I was going to be juggling 3 remotes but now I'm using 1 instead of the normal 2.
For anyone who owns one:
does it come with Prime Video or can it be installed?
Does it merge your current Play Movies and TV app to the Google TV app?

Can anyone take a picture of the services that can integrate on the "Your services" screen? I'm specifically interested if Binge is compatible because I haven't seen it in any screenshots so far.
I'll probably pick one up next week Gotta flog the VodaTV and Mibox first (both side boxes, my main is shieldTV)

The question is whether I promote this to the only 4K connection for this TV, and demote the Apple TV 4K down to a standard HDMI connector. Hmm. Decisions, decisions.
Can anyone tell me if it would work for unsupported countries as well??

Got mine as preorder and it looks nice compared to my android tv 9 boxes (xiaomi mi box s and vodafone TV) but I'm not convinced it's all positive (see my recent post). The suggestions to find new shows across multiple sources is nice, but I miss the Netflix row, Stan row, Disney row etc where you just scroll down on the home screen and see the series you are currently watching for each source. My home screen on google tv seems to be more about shows I'm not watching... Although there is a watch list so maybe that will work for me.. Not convinced yet.
Could anyone here please extract Google TV launcher and the Google TV launcher search apks and upload them somewhere? I been wanting to test on nvidia shield but the US has different suggestions ect.

I have just bought new Google chromecast with Google TV. I can't download a lot of Australian apps (Abc view, Ten app, SBS apps) as it says they are not compatible in my country, I live in Australia though!! Have I misconfigured settings when I initially set the device up? It seems like it thinks I am in a different country, any ideas on how I can fix this? Any help appreciated, thanks!
So I have a chromecast with Google tv device and thought I'd try to update my Vodafone TV to the same UI. Seems the launcherx everyone is installing is the us version so the "for you" doesn't load fully.
I remember seeing someone who extracted all apk for the Australian chromecast but i can't find it now. I'm not sure how to extract the launcherx apk without root.. Maybe adb.. I dunno.
