How to hide suggested content from apps I do not have installed or services that I don't subscribe to.

I just got the new Chromecast. I really liked the idea of it giving me suggestions on the homescreen. However, it seems every suggestion is from a service I'm not subscribed to. I don't even have the app installed for them.

I tried looking through all of the options. Is there any way to hide these suggestions?

We really need this, I don't want BBC iPlayer recommendations, I am not paying for a tv license just for one or two shows!

I found Apps Only mode to be a possible solution. But then that takes away so many things. I don't get the pages of suggestions. The Google Assistant button gets disabled.

I hope this gets changed. Or I hope it's possible to root these things and add this feature.

You can't because that's the entire point of those recommendations, to get you interested in subscribing to a new service. They are ads, unfortunately.

Just stick with the "For You" Tab that shows 90% of stuff you actually subscribe to. 10% of it shows a row of free ad-supported stuff from Tubi/Crackle, and "Trending on Google" The rest of the rows should be stuff that you actually subscribe too. I too wish there was a way to hide rows that we don't subscribe to.

Yeah I wish there was a way to completely give stuff from sling and Hulu.
