I received mine (UK) today and the remote was very problematic from the start, it would not register key presses, and then suddenly register them all at once, causing the cursor to fly around the UI. After an hour or so of messing around I've found that I have to be sitting in the right position on the sofa and hold the remote above my head for it to work reliably. Presumably I must have some interference on the BT frequency, which I believe is 2.4Ghz. What could be causing this?
Fixed! I repositioned how the CC was hanging at the back of the TV and all is now good. Guess it was directly behind a component in the TV (power board maybe?) thus not letting the BT signals through. Thanks everyone!
Where did you buy?
WiFi is on 2.4. Try changing your WiFi channel on your router. Are they close together?

Did you update the remote firmware in settings?
I also can't IR sync my Bush soundbar, Bush not an option. However, Bush works to control my TV power and source over IR, even though it's DigiHome. Must use the same components I guess. Anyone know of any other manufacturers I could try to sync the soundbar volume controls?
Does any one know how to remove the suggestion to rent or buy.
The main reasons n I got it was to get recommendations for the streaming apps i already have. Not to buy stuff from Google

Have you tried removing the batteries for a few minutes? Factory reset of the Chromecast?
