Chromecast Google TV - HDR not working

by parm09

I bought a new chromecast with google tv yesterday. I own a vizio p55 TV. I'm not able to get get HDR or dolby vision to work on any apps. I've tried different HDMI ports, enable/disable content matching and TV input HDR setting is on. Any suggestions on what is wrong? My TV and nvidia shield apps worked well with HDR.

Not to resurrect an old thread, but on a related note, has anyone gotten Dolby Vision to work? It seems outside of Netflix, no apps support DV. Is that a CCGTV issue or an app issue?

Did you enable Full UHD Color for that input? Also, are you sure it isn't running in HDR all the time as that is the default setting. Make sure you enable Match Content Dynamic Range in the Chromecast Display settings.

I am having the same issue, can't get HRD/Dolby Vision to work with match content On.
Even in Netflix app everything just shows Ultra HD 4K.
By any chance are you using hub or a different adapter?

Having the same problem. Flipping back and forth between the same youtube HDR videos on CC Ultra and GTV. Works fine on CC Ultra, nothing on GTV. I thought this was working the other day. Will reboot all the things.

I've managed to get my GTV chromecast to work with Dolby Vision on and off by restarting the CC and TV but it's very inconsistent, more often not working. Very annoying, it makes watching netflix DV unwatchable for me

Has anyone found a legitimate fix for this?
Among all the GTV disappointments, this by far is the worst.

My new chromecast with Google TV suddenly stopped showing hdr on any app. Same hdmi input as always but just suddenly stopped. Settings haven't changed.

Edit

Simple restart in the settings and all working

I have the NVidia shield tv pro and Google chromecast and since Tuesday. only Netflix can play Dolby Vision and HDR 10, while the rest of apps doesn't. like HBO Max, Disney+, prime video, Vudu and Movies anywhere. also I check these same apps on my LG OLED and they all works correctly. it's not the HDMI cable. I hope developers can fix this.
