Is there a way to see if an app is available on ATV?

by throwawayacct4991

Need to know this as firetv and roku have a way to browse their apps online without needing to use the streamer on the tv or switch countries/regions. But when i go to google play store, it doesnt say if app has androidtv compatibility, only mobile downloads. Why doesnt ATV have a separate store or a way to know about ATV app list?

Go to play.google.com look up the App, then click on the dropdown it should show you what devices the app is compatible with

See example below

If you browse the play store online you can check if a specific app is compatible with any of the devices linked to your account including your ATV. Go to the details page of an app and check if you could install it on your ATV. Might not be what you were hoping for, but might be a workaround...

Nope, they never have and nobody knows why, you can search TV apps but it's not complete. I guess they figure why do you care if you don't have a device.lol. If you need to know something specific ask around. Just about anything major that should have a TV app does.

Go to https://play.google.com/settings and tic the box for the device or devices you are using, then when you search for an app click on the drop down menu where it says "this app is compatible with some of your devices" or "this app is compatible with all of your devices" and you'll see what devices are compatible with the app you need.

Yes:
https://apkcombo.com/apk-downloader/?device=tv&arches=&sdkInt=&expanded=1&-sa=1&lang=en&dpi=480&q= ADD-THE-PACKAGE-NAME=HERE

It's important to write the package name, otherwise it might show the mobile apk but no the android tv one.
