Chromecast GoogleTV remote won't turn on TV and sound bar at the same time like Firestick remote does, it asks you to choose one or the other in the settings. Am I mising something or this is really bad design?

The JBl soundbar is connected to the TV with optical cable, not HDMI so the Automatic CEC option won't turn it on either.

It should be om the settings under remotes and devices and configure a new device. Had to do this for my source on my TV.

That's odd, my Sony TV turns on which also turns on my soundbar, and I can control the volume.works perfectly for me. Maybe chose your TV to turn on this will make your soundbar switch on automatically.

It works for my Samsung for like a day, then I have to pair the power button again
