Google Duo and other videocalling apps like Jami have that issue, it's something Google must fix, there's nothing you can do to fix it nor there aren't any workarounds so far.
The app should use the mic of any webcam connected to the device by default.
You must report the issue directly using the "Send Feedback" option inside the help section of the app.
Google Duo is now available on Android TV Play Store as a beta
