It was supposed to be incredibly easy. On the 2020 Google Chromecast remote, you could set the YouTube button to any YouTube service by simply pressing and holding the YouTube button. A picker would automatically appear.
I'm holding the button. And holding it. And holding it.
Nothing.
Any ideas?
Do you have another supported YT app installed? It works fine for me.
You need at least two YouTube apps installed before you will have the option to remap.
From other threads it has something to do with the firmware version and if you updated. I updated remote before trying to remap and it does not work.
YouTube, YouTube music and YouTube TV are installed. Firmeare is upgraded. Went back to factory reset and reinstalled all apps. Still doesn't work. A quick click takes me to YouTube. A long clock does nothing. Weird.
Yeah, I’m having the same issue. I just got another one delivered today for my kids room and no luck. Still works on my bedroom until thought. System and remote fully updated.
Button Mapper or keymapper apps will do it. I admire these apps and I've been using Button Mapper on my mobile. But these apps require accessibility service and in some android TVs it's not possible for now.
