I’ve noticed that the Subscriptions YouTube channel on my home screen hasn’t updated in days. Opening the actual app and going to the subscriptions page confirms this.
Does anybody know how to fix this?

Easy. Use Smart Tube Next.
Those YouTube channels are so broken, there isn't a fix as of now, if you have your play history turned ON there is nothing else you can do.
