Using Ethernet instead of wifi makes Netflix change server, making it so much slower.

by yoimtinyrick

So we have couple of AndroidTV in our house, both does that.
Tested using FAST test: Ethernet: tops at 9-15Mbit. Movies and shows can't get to 2160p or 1440p unlike wifi. Wifi: 50-60Mbit. Ethernet real speed (Tested with speedtest): 100Mbit.

All other apps runs just fine on Ethernet, anyone having this issue too?

This sounds more like an issue with the ethernet cable or your network configuration than Netflix changing servers.

For Netlfix to change servers I can only think of a VPN or a different routing table configured in your network.

How is your network in your home? Where is the wifi connecting to and where is the ethernet connecting to?

Check on the quality of the Ethernet cable. If it’s not good it will limit your speed

Some TV (like my Sony xf9005) have much faster WiFi connection than cable (limited to 100 Mbps - around 12.5 MB/s)

What are you plugging the TV into? Maybe the switch or router is not Gigabit LAN?

Try changing DNS nexflix can be quite fickle. Google 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4 or cloudflare 1.1.1.1 & 1.0.0.1. Same devices apply there own dns to WiFi but not to Ethernet. I can do 4k fine with my firestick 4k that is only 100Mbit to. Edit: woak up this morning realising I gave wrong ip for Google

Sounds like your wall outlet isn't wired properly. Did you check that outlet and the cable with a PC?
