I’ve just been made aware by a kind lurker that this apk worked for a 2015 Sony Bravia TV (w805c).

I assume you'd be able to pull the apk with ADBLink or similar.
Are you able to enable usb/adb debugging on the sony tv?
Hi, in Italy a guy I know did it. He took the apk from Sony and modified it in order to make it work on all android TV. I'm using it now on my new chromecast, but obviously it's compatible only with Italian now tv. Every country has a different app (even if it's 99% the same app).

The Sony Nowtv app will only work on Sony TVs, there was actually a official Google TV version of Nowtv it was available in the play store before GTV official Uk release (I had Google TV a week earlier) it would start to load up then at it would show a "not supported on this device message" I alway thought they were waiting for the official GTV released date but no! it then disappeared from the store I still have the app and it still shows the "not supported message"
