It's a bit of an odd request but does anyone know if there is a way to get a Google Play Store Shortcut made for Google TV? I know someone did it for Xbox Game Pass. Basically my reasoning is sometimes apps don't show up when searching on the home screen version and you can't manually update apps.
You can press the assistant button on the remote and say open Google Play store. I realize not a shortcut but does that do what you are looking for?
Did you just make a TV app that launches the Google Play Store?
I made a shortcut to it with Button Mapper.
If you want to have the Play Store icon on the home screen, download Sideload Launcher. It creates a folder for apps you've sideloaded, like Chrome, but also displays the Play Store icon.
I made a shortcut to both the Play Store and the Live Channels app.

You will need to install the shortcut like any other sideloaded app.
Btw, the text in the shortcut banner is not perfect. I'll try and improve it over the weekend.
