Netflix android tv 480/540p

by Luzipher

Hi, So Netflix on android tv was working fine until last 2 days

I have 2 Philips PUS8303 both have downgraded resolution these last 2 days

Network is fine, its 500 down and 20 up

Network test on tv shows 460-480(wifi) cannot get it wired

Netflix speed test shows 110-130Mbps but runs videos with 0.21mbps / 480 or 540

Tried this on both TVs, Tried this with different networks, tried this with mobile data all with the same result of 0.21mbps/480 or 540

I set up the Netflix profile to highest, restarted TVs, uninstalled updates on Netflix, reinstalled them, cleared cache, cleared data, logged out, restarted router, checked with Netflix support they say just do the steps they provide (nothing changed) cheeked with ISP everything is fine,

Netflix on Mobile, Laptop, Pc is fine as usual with usual resolutions 720p and 1080p

I gave up now so im coming here to ask you guys if anyone has an idea.

Thanks.

I don't know what resolution my Philips TV is playing Netflix at, but it doesn't look like 4K at all. And YouTube only plays on 720p, even if the video says it's 4K.

Is there any way to make Netflix show stats, like YouTUbe does?

Same problem here on Philips 7303. Reassuring others are having the same problem.

Seems like some people are freaking out over this and returning their TVs - what's happening?

i am experiencing the same issue and netflix support is not really helping

Widevine downgrade issue, trust me I'm pretty sure tpvision won't do anything thus we're fucked

Good to know I am not the only one. Sad to know that it happened. Where did it break? Is it a Netflix issue or a Philips issue? I tried Netflix support, and they blamed this on my 1GBs fiber connection saying that I am using too much bandwidth.. they couldn't explain that actually all my other devices work fine, and youtube was giving me 4k resolution on the same TV.

Hi. The same for me since +- 1week : debit is 0,47mbit/s / 540. Tv: 65PUS7303/12

Is there something to do to correct that issue ?

sairuscz

Same issue on 65PUS7303/12. Netflix support was catastrophic.. I'm glad Reddit exists.

I've just opened a ticket with Philips support.

Have they fixed something? My netflix today can get to 1080p.. used to be able to get to 2160p, but at least 1080p is better than 540p

I had a tchat with Philips yesterday end-of-day and they was aware of thid issue.

This morning I reveived an email with message : your ticket is closed.

I did a 'test patterns' check and no longer issue for me : 1080 available again !
