I am using Surfshark app for VPN but other than launching the standalone surfshark app I am looking to have a visual queue in the home screen that the VPN is connected and my connection is private is there any tweaks or anything that I could do to achieve this?
One thing that comes to mind is https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nl.rogro82.pipup coupled with something, perhaps a shell script running on the TV, that monitors network state changes. A bit hacky but I suppose it could be persuaded into working.
Maybe look in the developer menu for a setting that shows network status
The troypoint rapid app installer has an app called vpnsafetydot. Shows a dot on your screen green for vpn on red for off. You can customize the transparency.
