I am trying to set up my grandmother with a way to video call folks but I'm not particularly a fan of having to make a Facebook account for her. Does anyone know if a tv that runs android tv can recognize and use a webcam for Duo or something like that?
Sideloading the regular Zoom apk also works very well on Android TV
I confirm DUO is available on Android TV Play Store and works perfectly with Mi Box 3, Mi Box S and Shield Pro 2019. That's what I have. I have tested it for fun even with a logitech cam from 2008.
Not all webcams supported. Logitech cams are supported on Android TVs.
Yea... I can confirm that you can use a webcam with a TV thay has inbuilt Android TV. Only catch is the Mic usage. On my TV, it takes the mic on remote as default and there's no way to change it.
I have a Sony Bravia and a Logitech C920 and it works just fine.
not all TVs and Cameras work.
Sorry to hijack, but what webcam models (other than Logitech C920) are people using for zoom on a Sony Android TV, and/or a FireTV?
I tried a £20 one off Amazon and that wasn't detected.
