Disney+ isn’t compatible

by 34mjf

I just picked up a TCL 55 inch Android TV from Best Buy. On the box, they list Disney+ as one of the channels it can stream. The app is already downloaded on my tv but when I click it, it says that it’s not compatible with this version. I’ve checked the updates on the tv and everything is up to date. Anyone have a fix for this? Thanks!

I have a TCL Android TV, cheap 40" 1080p bought a few months ago. It has Android 9 and I was able to install Disney+ from the Play store and launch it without issue.

I'm in the exact same boat as you, I've been searching all night. The only thing I've found is to side load it but I've been having trouble doing that too

Check for android tv updates?

Even premium brand TVs tend to lose support for important apps over time. In the UK a lot of people got pissed off that a TV they bought just a few months prior could no longer run BBC iPlayer.
In many cases the only way around it is to purchase a set-top box with support for current software. Fortunately there is a plethora of cheap android TV boxes available these days, just make sure you get one that comes with Android 9 installed. The cheaper it is, the less chance you have of getting android upgrades to keep up with the apps - but it's a lot cheaper than replacing your TV.
