What adapter is it (brand/model)? USB ethernet adapters based on an ASIX chipset work best.
Try unplugging the adapter. Restart the Mi Box. Plug the adapter back in.
Try unplugging the adapter from the Mi Box and plug it back in.
I have the same issue every once in a while since the 9.0 update and this fixes it.
