Xiaomi Mi Box S: Is it good for 4K + HDR from USB streaming?

by RoyMastang

Hi all,

I want to buy a TV Box to watch 4K movies, since my TV's internal player doesnt do well with all H.265 formats. I will be using it with my external SSD, through the USB port. Is the device capable of playing 4K with HDR from the USB port?

Thanks!

Yes, you can use Kodi to organize your library and it will play just fine.

Yes its good. I stream 4k HDR H.265 10 Bit files from an external hdd and the miboxs has no problems with the files. Not a single hiccup with Kodi

The files i have are approximately 20 to 30 GB (+28730 kbps bitrate)

Yes. It is great. I couldn't be more satisfied with mine.

May I also recommend installing Google TV on it if you like the interface? It runs very smoothly and I'm sure you've already heard of it.
