It should normally show up, but it's buggy I guess! Moreover, it can also connect through bluetooth, so If you have your bluetooth turned on, on both devices, it'll show up anyway!
Its buggy. But does work.
I see the same results as you frequently. But then other times it will.see my box no problem.
Yes, it works. You may experience the problem because of your wifi router has the policy enabled to block WiFi <-> LAN traffic
I don't have a wired adapter for my Android TV, but it could just depend on your router settings. I'd imagine some isolate WiFi from wired, some don't, and maybe there are other discovery and/or port usage features that are router-dependent.
I think I've had issues in the past with my phone not seeing my Android TV box if one was on my 5ghz band and the other was on the 2.4, but I could also be remembering that incorrectly.
It works on my Shield with no issues. It really depends on how your network is set up though. Is both the Wi-Fi and the ethernet port your TV is connected to the same router (no extenders, etc)? Have you checked if the router does not isolate Wi-Fi traffic away from wired devices?
Allow network discovery
Depends how your network is setup. If your wifi is in router mode then you have two different networks and it won't work.
Yes it works. Mine is connected by ethernet only. I don't even have my wifi connection setup at all since I did a factory reset a month ago. Not sure why yours isn't working but the app works as long as you're on the same network.
