Hey guys. Does anyone know where to find and change the time that it takes for ambient mode to turn on on Google TV? It turns on automatically after like 5 minutes and I would like to make it longer but I can't find the setting anywhere. I was able to change it on my old Mi Box but not on here. Thanks.
Here is the solution to setting a customs timer for Chromecast Ambient Mode. This post is 2 years old, but hey - it's better than waiting 5 minutes for the ambient mode to turn on.

I have now set my TV to automatically turn on Chromecast via "Google Home Routine" and then switch on Ambient Mode with my own google photos after 10 seconds --> digital picture frame complete
You mean mean ambient mode reverts to your home screen after 5 minutes? Weird behavior.
I activate ambient mode by clicking the back button. Clicking the select button takes me back to the home screen.
You can set the time before ambient mode turns off the TV, from 5 minutes to Never (Settings > System > Energy saver). Even when the TV is off, clicking select will bring up the home screen.
Reboot it if you are having issues with ambient mode popping up when it shouldn't. It's currently bugged. It's a temp fix, but it works.

Follow the instructions here and change screensaver start delay.
You can possibly do this via the Google home app on your phone? I'm not on my local network so can't confirm right now.
Edit: just confirming you can't sadly. can only change the speed of the images.
